StrongKey Lite Encrytpion System
StrongAuth introduces the world's first integrated encryption, tokenization and key-management appliance - the StrongKey Lite Encryption System (SKLES) - to help companies comply with the encryption requirements of data-security regulations such as the PCI-DSS and the Standard for the protection of Personal Information of the residents of Massachusetts (201 CMR 17.00 ).

The SKLES includes the following:

  • The ability to encrypt and store billions of sensitive data records on the appliance using the Advanced Encrytion Standard (AES) algorithm

  • The ability to tokenize sensitive data on the appliance to minimize the impact on applications
  • Key-management - consisting of automatic key-generation, escrow, recovery and access-control - of millions of symmetric encryption keys on the appliance
  • A cryptographic hardware module with a true random number generator (TRNG) from the protection of cryptographic keys
  • A hardened, high-performance, quad-core 64-bit processor based computer with 4GB of DRAM, 0.5 TB of hard disk storage and necessary software to operate the appliance
  • Secure, automatic replication to other SKLES appliances for high-availability of cryptographic services
  • The ability to host multiple encryption domains within a single appliance, allowing for servicing different security needs of applications from a single SKLES appliance
  • Color-coded USB tokens to store the strong cryptographic credentials of Key Custodians for securely and easily managing the cryptographic hardware module from remote locations
  • The ability to integrate the appliance to existing identity management systems, such as Active Directory or other LDAP-based identity management systems and
  • A GUI-based administration console for the easy and secure management of the SKLES

All this capability is available at an unprecedented low price of US $4,995 per appliance.

This not a special one-time offer, or a teaser.  This is our everyday low price on an SKLES appliance. Guaranteed (see below for details).

Encryption and key-management software and appliances with a fraction of this capability are available from our competitors for 5x to 10x this price.  So, how come StrongAuth is able to offer all this capability at this ridiculously low price?

Simple.  We leverage the best industry standard components and open-source software to deliver a solution so compelling, you'll want to speak to our existing customers to determine if this is for real (it is).  The SKLES leverages::

  • The 64-bit, quad-core AMD Phenom processor for generating blazing performance on the appliance

  • The open-source 64-bit Linux operating system for operating the appliance
  • The open-source MySQL RDBMS for storing data within the SKLES' internal database
  • The open-source Glassfish JEE5 application server to service client requests
  • The open-source Java Virtual Machine, Bouncy Castle JCE library, Trusted Computing for Java library for performing cryptographic functions
  • The open-source (but scaled down for simplicity) StrongKey Symmetric Key Management System (also created by StrongAuth four years ago)
  • The Common Criteria EAL 4+ certified Trusted Platform Module (TPM) - which includes a True Random Number Generator (TRNG) - for protecting the key-hierarchy on the appliance. For those who absolutely want or need a FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified Hardware Security Module (HSM) in their SKLES appliance, this is also available (you do realize you'll pay more for this, don't you?)

We also support the automatic and secure replication of all objects between SKLES appliances so you have high-availability of cryptographic services for your business applications   This includes symmetric keys, encrypted data, access-control policies - the whole kaboodle.

And all this can be operational in your site in two days or less (we actually know it can be done in less than a day, but figure it sounds more credible to say two days - afer all, you do need to get the redundant  SKLES to your disaster recovery data-center after the initial setup and we figure that should take at least a day even if you ship it overnight).

So, where do you get more information? Right here:

  • Download the Data Sheet to get details on the appliance

  • Read the FAQ on the SKLES
  • Check out the WSDL for the web-service supported by the SKLES
  • Check out the supporting XSD
  • Review the sample client application to see how easy it is to program to the web-service
  • The story at Dark Reading on the appliance

StrongAuth Guarantee

If you find another appliance with the same capabilities as the SKLES at a lower price, contact us with proof; we will give you one of our Model-T appliances for free! (You will be responsible for shipping, taxes and support costs, of course).  Please note, that to use our single free appliance, you will need to buy at least one more SKLES appliance.  Because of the way the SKLES is architected for redundancy, it cannot be setup and used as a solitary machine - it must have the second SKLES appliance's master-key for replication before it will allow you to configure the first encryption domain. (While you may think that this is a low-down trick, we designed this for your own protection - honest!).
