Triangle InfoSeCon Conference

Start Date:

End Date:

Are you ready for the best cybersecurity conference in the Southeast? Triangle InfoSeCon is the largest annual information security conference in the area and is the flagship event of the Raleigh Chapter of the Information System Security Association (ISSA). StrongKey is pleased to sponsor this year’s conference.

Join StrongKey’s Solutions Architect, Norman Field as he presents on Adopting Passwordless Authentication for Optimum User Experience.

Abstract: In 1960, the computer password was born. Fernando Corbato introduced the idea to the computer science industry while working at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With passwords, each user could have their own specific file, rather than all users sharing a single file. In this context, the password both improved security and the user experience. Sixty years later, it’s no secret that the password is not only inadequate as a security mechanism, but is indeed the prominent attack vector for breaches. And while multi-factor authentication may improve security, it does so at the cost of a degraded user experience, and still has its own vulnerabilities.

Fortunately, there is a solution that provides strong authentication, delightful user experience, and eliminates the need for passwords. The FIDO (Fast Identity Online) Alliance, a consortium of industry and government, defines several passwordless protocols that have been widely adopted by the largest companies in the IT industry.

This presentation takes the viewpoint of the user, whether at home or at work, and walks through how to effectively incorporate passwordless authentication into everyday applications like email, social media, and banking websites. Attendees will leave the session with an understanding of the future of authentication as well as what resources are available to implement passwordless authentication at any scale, starting with the single user.

You can tune into the session on Friday, October 30th at 10:15 am. Register here.
